Valle delle Ferriere

A fabulous path, completely immersed in greenery and peace of a particularly lively and in some aspect rare and ancient nature. Very pleasant to do even during the summer heat, as it enjoys a cool microclimate and the cold waters of the Canneto river that flows there, where you can cool off.

The walk begins in the upper part of the town of Amalfi, entering the ruins of what between 1200 and 1800 was an industrial area for the production of paper and iron.

Reaching an altitude difference of less than 300 meters we will arrive to an intersection from which turning to the right we will set off towards the small village of Pontone (part of the municipality of Scala).

After a possible brief stop to recover energy in the small square of Pontone, we will descend a panoramic staircase, of about a thousand steps, which will take us back to Amalfi.
